Neoteric was my initial attempt at diving into a residential project without any restraints attached. I had the opportunity at this early stage of my education to let my mind run free. At the time I was itching to go on vacation, and so I decided to draw up a vacation destination of my own. This project goal was not only to create a beautiful villa, but to learn to navigate modeling software, Rhinoceros 3D, along with rendering plugins such as V-Ray and Enscape; while also polishing up my photoshop/illustrator skills.
I was tasked with one job in this project. That was to take a deeper study into a detail in architecture. I chose to look at how undervalued shading devices are to common people. Without attention to this detail, many windows would become a nuisance. This villa and its large magnificent windows, shows this in prime example. I also made materials be a focus of this project. The type of material used can add so much texture and context to a building. Keeping Neoteric’s design clean and elegant was the goal, so I let the materials bring in some extra depth and texture.
